Hello there!
Welcome and thank you for visiting our corner of the world.
Our goal is a thrreefold purpose. We'd like to share happiness, while educating and advocating deaf culture, deaf art, those who live life with multiple diffabilities and the benefits of pet ownership in regards to health and wellness.
We've been owners of Furbaby Haven doggie day care for the last 8 years, we began with Scavo Pet Sitting Services and a daily dog walking program in 2003. We took care of many furbabies in our neighborhood and business began to grow from there. After being closed due to the covid pandemic, and hurricane Ian, we hope to reopen our doggie daycare by the fall season.
As of current news, we feel it's best to explain that I, Terri, am late deafened with some visual issues from Muckle Wells syndrome but over the years, I've learned to take life one hour at a time. I feel that furbabies along with arts, crafts, comedy and music make life more enjoyable. Yes, music! I remember many songs from the 1970's to the year 2001. My hubby Joe, is hard of hearing, and my Mother has a cochlear implant. We have a few reaIatives that are also hard of hearing. I was not fortunate to be a candidate for a cochlear implant, but that is okay with me. Everyone has their own beliefs in regards to hearing loss and deafness and we respect that.
While we aim to share information about Deaf history and furbabies, please enjoy our art and photography at the Fine Art America website.

In this day and age especially after a two year pandemic, some folks strive to see the lighter side of things, doing the best to find validations in many time worn quotes such as, "A laugh a day keeps the blues away."
A lot of us have health issues to deal with and we will do our best to share the latest health food tips and other things we find helpful. What do you do for happiness? When was the last time you spent at least an hour for just yourself? How often do you laugh, relax, enjoy a hobby? What are your hobbies? When was the last time you got to truly immerse yourself in them? I'd like to share a great quote a family member said' to me, many moons ago;
"In life you need three things. Something to do, something to love, something to hope for." If you don't have any or just one of these, what can you do to accomplish it? Often times, laughter really is best medicine. The next time your pup or aging furry bestie does something funny, make sure you actually do take that moment to BOL, (Bark Out Loud) your phone and social media will always be around, your special furiend will not.

"Furbabies love unconditionally!" There's nothing like the purr of a content cat napping next to you as a sense of calm and happiness. Furbabies have a way to comfort us like no medicine can. They help us to laugh by watching their comical antics, they get us up and moving to feed and play with them. They can join us in our daily tasks and help us take a break from the chaos of life.
While we set up our online store, please enjoy the following pages of many cute photos and funny stories of our pet sitting and doggie day care days. Be sure to find our newest paintings and fine art throughout this site.

In 2003, Terri got a caption call from a neighbor to pet sit for her Australian Kelpie dog. A week later, a call to care for another neighbor's two cats. Before we knew it, we were caring for about 30 pet sitting clients on a rotating basis. After some eye surgeries, the name Scavo Pet Sitting Services later changed to Furbaby Haven Doggie Day Care. We are currently still closed due to Terri's foot injury but sharing our love for animals through our family photography & paintings.
